I was wondering whether there is anyone I can gain some advice from! I have an interview for a primary teaching job coming up, which I really want. As part of the interview I have to do 15 min Circle Time session with Year 6 children (10/11 yrs). I have done lots of circle time before, but would like some help on what to do with a new group. Can anyone help or is there anyone you could put me in contact with?
    Thank you, Elizabeth

    Dear Elizabeth

I hope somebody looks up from their tired busy little place and gives you an answer! but just in case they don't... I thought I would just remind you to try and look at the new SEAL box that has come into every primary school. It has different themes and one of them is new beginnings. We helped structure those sessions and there are some very good ideas in them. As a new person going in it would do you good to be able to quote SEAL. If you go on their web site www.dfes.gov.uk this should let you find it.

Perhaps more importantly, if you go into my book Quality Circle Time in the Primary School, ... there are some really easily structured lesson plans, also I have a new book out called Step by Step which has new ideas in it and a very clear breakdown of how to do a session.
You can order it through the website.
Good luck, I hope your interview goes well, lots of warm wishes.
