I am researching the development of spoken language among bilingual pupils, particularly new arrivals, and looking at Circle Time as a model for promoting this.Does anyone have any information on this topic or know of any research which has already been done?
I'm not aware of any research into this area but that doesn't mean that none has been done! If you look on the website research and reports section you will find much research, some of which is to do with language learning. I would imagine it would be a good model for bilingualism as the language activities are scaffolded to support children, body language is clearer in a circle, games activities relax and engage children on different levels and activities can be especially chosen for this.
Maybe someone else has more information on this? Best of luck with your research.
